Arta Mero

Arta Mero is an Associate Professor of Family and Inheritance Law at the Faculty of Law of the South East European University (SEEU). She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Legal Clinic and is actively involved in providing free legal aid to marginalized groups in society, particularly women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
Arta Mero is a Senator in the SEEU Senate. She is the first Albanian professor in North Macedonia to challenge taboos surrounding assisted reproduction within the family through her research, teaching, and publications. She is also a member of the Commission for Biomedically Assisted Reproduction at the Ministry of Health. Arta Mero is a co-author of the university textbook Family Law and the edited volume Children’s Rights: Challenges and New Perspectives, as well as the author of numerous academic papers published in international, regional, and national journals. She is highly active in advocating for the rights of women and children, particularly in the fields of family and inheritance law, and is a strong public voice on these issues. “I work closely with students, and I believe my impact is significant precisely because the subjects I teach—Family Law and Inheritance Law—address issues that are closely linked to raising awareness among young people about many important questions within these fields.”
